The Workplace
In 2026, Kulturhuset Ursvik will open, a meeting place for everyone with a focus on children and youth. Here, libraries, cultural schools, creative spaces, digital culture, open activities, and program operations will come together in a new cultural house developed in collaboration with the local community. The cultural house will serve as a vibrant hub in everyday life, where creation, learning, and events interact, offering varied activities for children and youth throughout the day and where different generations meet. The house has a clear theme – The Word – which permeates the decor, programs, and pedagogy. As a new member of our team, you will help build a place where curiosity, safety, and creativity thrive every day.

Job Responsibilities
As a producer, you will be one of the people who brings the house to life. You will be close to visitors, moving between rooms and activities, ensuring that the cultural house is a welcoming place where people feel safe, seen, and free to explore. The role is both practical and relationship-building. You will work in the heart of the operations and contribute to the daily functioning of the house while it is shaped and developed.
You will:
- meet, guide, and support visitors in public spaces from small children to adults
- actively work with children and youth in both open and organized contexts
- staff and maintain creative and digital environments where ideas can be realized
- participate in the planning and execution of programs, workshops, and events
- collaborate with colleagues, associations, and other actors inside and outside the house
- contribute to safety, order, and a good atmosphere in the house
- take responsibility for the daily practical operations of the house, including opening, closing, and ensuring the facilities function in daily work
- be involved in building routines and working methods in a cultural house that is being shaped as it is filled
The work is done in teams and according to a schedule with days, evenings, and weekends.
We want you to
- have a relevant university degree, preferably in pedagogy and/or culture or another equivalent education deemed suitable by the employer.
- have experience working in public operations where meeting people is central
- be used to taking initiative and working both independently and collaboratively
- be able to plan, execute, and follow up on activities, programs, or workshops in daily life
- be structured and responsible, with the ability to prioritize when many things are happening at once
- be communicative and adapt your working style to different target groups and situations
It is advantageous if you have experience in one or more of the following areas: cultural activities, libraries, leisure activities, events, creative and digital creation, community life, or working with youth, as well as experience in program operations from planning to execution.
